PROFILE
Matenrou Opera is a band who blew everyone away when their first single was released. Not only was the band formed by two talented ex-Jeniva members, but their vocalist sono proved in their first release that his already amazing voice has dramatically improved, becoming very distinguishable. Their songs are unique, along with their appearance which is dark yet stylish.

BIOGRAPHY
Matenrou Opera was formed in October 2006 by the former Jeniva vocalist, sono. Not too long after, Jeniva's drummer yuu joined the band, together with female keyboardist Karen, guitarist Mika, and bassist you.

However, the band's first official live wasn't held until May 2007 at the Urawa Narciss, and this was also the official start of the band. Their first release, which was a single titled alkaloid showcase, was released on the same day as their live and was limited to only 1000 copies. Only a few months later, the single was completely sold out.

After releasing their first single, the members of Matenrou Opera kept the band busy with lives and participating in various events. During one of their concerts in October, the young band announced that Mika and Karen would leave them in November. New members to replace the leaving members joined in December and the new line-up consisted of keyboardist, ayame, and guitarist, anzi. Around that same time, it was announced that the band would join Kamijo's label, Sherow Artist Society.

This young band is set to release their second single, Ruriiro de egaku niji, on March 5th. In February it was announced that the band had signed to the European label, Rock Identity, and will join Versailles on their European tour which is suppose to take place in March and April 2008.
