PROFILE
Irokui. is a band of many colors, quite literally in the case of Yuuri's hair, but also in style, having formed with the idea of absorbing different colors (indicated in their name). By embracing different styles, the band's sound ranges from cute and cheerful to deranged and heavy, though there's always a strong melodic component. Their visual style is just as diverse. It used to be that you could count on them to appear in very elaborate and colorful ensembles, though lately the costumes have become a little simpler. Always challenging themselves, their concept is to be "Yui itsu mu ni," "the one and only."

BIOGRAPHY
Irokui。 formed in 2005 with vocalist Yuuri, bassist Ritsu and guitarist Hazuki and, though there were various member changes, these three remained the core. A year later, drummer Natsuki joined and shortly after that came guitarist Shuuta, both of whom shared the band's fundamental vision of unpredictability and varying styles.

They started off with a one track single, Yuenai disc, and quickly had their first solo live, Oneman of joy toy, in July. It was followed in August by a four track mini album, Irokichi○i。, whose first press was limited to a thousand copies though a second press was released in October.

Their first maxi single was part of a two-release campaign. The first, Zensai, appeared in February of 2006, and was accompanied by a free event and free one-man, Tada kui, the following month. Zensai was officially released in mid-March, reaching 13th on the Oricon indie chart. The first copies of the second maxi-single, Ahidaguhi, made an advance appearance in April at the end of their countrywide spring tour and, after its official release in May, it fared even better than Zensai, reaching 7th on the same chart.

Maintaining a schedule packed with live shows, they entered 2007, a year which saw two more of their singles make it into the top ten on the indie charts; Jikochuu Arisu was their highest ranking yet at 4th. It even entered the top 100 of the major charts, albeit at 96th. Their first album, Ginsei flare no zaregoto, came out that November, reaching 15th in the indie album chart.

2008 saw Irokui。 participating in the stylish wave '08 Haru no arashi tour, after which their new maxi-single, Mrs Albino to Mr Carbon, was released. They have a two-man show with Bergerac coming up in September, followed by a new mini-album that will hopefully fare as well as their other releases. The visual scene should be expecting much more from this promising young band.
